My husband is having a vasectomy in a couple weeks. Any advice?

I know it's not something he is looking forward to and he is feeling a bit like he's losing his masculinity with it. He's a great guy and is doing this so that I don't need to keep taking birth control forever. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips on supporting him, helping with the recovery? Anything you want to share about your experience? My husband is having a vasectomy in a couple weeks. Any advice?
Get a couple of latex gloves. Fill them with a salt water solution and freeze them. The salt water won't freeze completely, and will have a consistency a bit thicker than slush. After his surgery, place one on his scrotum. It helps dull the pain, and conforms nicely to that area.

Change the glove periodically, and he will truly appreciate what you've done for him.My husband is having a vasectomy in a couple weeks. Any advice?
For me, it was like a healing balm!

I'd advise you to definitely take HOORAH's advise and put the salt water latex gloves on the scrotum to dull the pain. Another thing you can do is keep him from having to walk, which may hurt the healing testicles more. If he needs to do small things like get a snack or something that you can surely do, then do so. Allow yourself to cater to him for a while since he's going to endure the pain for you all to avoid having more children. He'll appreciate knowing that his work wasn't in vain. Whatever the doctor says to do, follow to avoid complications.

Unlike someone said, a vasectomy will not cause the testicles to shrivel up, for all the doctors do will cut the vas deferenes to not allow sperm to travel up and meet with the Seminal Fluid. I think the person was thinking of a castration where they take the actual testes out. This means he can still ejaculate and enjoy Sexual Intercourse with the extremely low risk of impregnating you.

I'd wait a couple weeks to have intercourse so that pregnancy doesn't happen on accident. Vasectomies can be reversed if you ever want children and have ultrasounds every couple months, for the tubes can mend themselves back together after a while. Thought it's rare, it certainly can happen. Research online or at your library about ways to care for a vasectomy and what exactly the procedure entails for the male. Hope this helps.
i had mine done almost 18 years ago. I wanted sex the first night, but the wife said no because the doctor said to wait a day.

since then it has been great.

any where, any time baby, with no worrys of a baby.
Grab the TV remote and make sure the microwave and popcorn is near him. And just in case, put it on the football channel to make sure he wont stress to much trying to change the channel right when he gets home :).
You could do it... You can achually reverse getting tubes tide.

Look into that. Vascectomys are forever! His balls will also deteriorate and he will just have a flabby skin thing.

You will wreck his lifer!!!!!!
I wouldn't offer sex, because I think that it would hurt him more than it would cause joy.
