My husband and I are interested in purchasing a portable GPS System; can you give us some advice?

Where's the best place to get one?

What's the best brand to get?

How much is a reasonable price?

Any particular features we should look for?

Or any other advice you would like to share woud be quite helpful and very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance to anyone who answers! My husband and I are interested in purchasing a portable GPS System; can you give us some advice?
According to Consumer Reports, there is a basic Tom Tom that sells around $250 that ranks near the top. After that, it's a matter of personal choice of extras, such as larger display, more memory for extra maps (if you travel), talking directions, quick recalculation if you miss your turn or run into construction, etc. Basically, price will be a trade-off between what you want and what you need, but it's not hard to spend upwards of $500 for a fairly nice unit.My husband and I are interested in purchasing a portable GPS System; can you give us some advice?
TomTom is a good one i believe they sell them at Target and the price is pretty reasonable.
