My husband is traveling to mexico to pick up furniture, does he have to have a passport?

He is a U.S citizen, but will a birth certificate and social security card be enough to cross to and from?My husband is traveling to mexico to pick up furniture, does he have to have a passport?

He must have a passport, or passport card,or enhanced drivers license.see site below to read the law and 2nd site for a passport application info.
The rules have changed. You need a passport.


Birth certificates, drivers licenses and social security cards are no longer considered good enough ID to cross the border.
